Season of Seeking

The Second of the Five Oaths events, that took place between 20th and 22nd September 2019 in Bellurgan Park.

Event Guide Blurb

Following the band’s success on their first mission, they have been hired to guard the Great Cattle Mart of Baol, being hosted near Buncríoch. The Rider who has been made responsible for the market, Duardo Ortega Mera, is relatively new, and eager for the market to be a success as Dalles, the Iarla of Baol, hails from the Highland Clann Niamha, who bring the most highly valued cattle to market. A scandal at the Great Cattle Mart could cast a shadow over the Rider’s entire career (if it doesn’t end it).

The Highland Clanns bring the cattle to market, but the majority of the buyers are made up of the Trade Guilds, organisations that control almost every aspect of trade and commerce in the lowlands. Since the Happy Harvest Trade Guild attempted to usurp the Réig’s power 8 years ago and were disbanded, the Guilds and their activities have come under increased scrutiny.

Between the Guild’s politics, the Clann’s internal feuds, and the bitter rivalry between the Lowlands and the Highlands, Baol is a land divided and tempers are sure to get raised, but the band’s success in their inaugural mission seems to have impressed the Rider enough to trust them to manage any situation that comes up.

But the Rider is not the only one who seems to be impressed by the new band’s actions at Corroch. The Shaper Themself seems to have taken a special interest in the band, with the Gallóglaigh present for the events at Corroch becoming Blessed*, a development that is gaining the band significant attention.

As you begin to travel up the well trod cattle tracks to set up your camp, the sky is thick with clouds of squawking, roiling flocks of birds, enough to obscure the waning sunlight.

• (All approved characters who were at Event 1 gain the Blessed condition and, which acts as a target category for Effects. Additionally, once over the event a Blessed Character may say the words “From the Shaper” and immediately regain 3 Vigour. This may be done while unconscious, but not while muted. If you regain Vigour this way, you lose the Blessed condition. This condition will expire at the end of this event.)
