Scion of a Warrior House
Early Life
The MacUltans are a minor noble house of the Siabhal's Ruby Court, and what renown they have was earned on the battlefield. Síle MacUltan, also known as Síle the Swift, was famous for her single-handed defeat of the Flamewreath Serpent during her time as a gallóglaigh, and her eldest son Duarcan has proven to be equally talented with a blade. Síle's brother Liam, also called Liam the Brave, is Duarcan's uncle and he passed down his famed sword Buaiteoir to Duarcan upon his death.
Cumhacht na Réig
Duarcan joined Cumhacht na Réig during the Seasons of Uncertainty, fighting with the band at the Battle of Scarlet Heather and during the battle of Barr.
During the Season of Renewal, he helped the band to fight against the twisted depictions of the Hundred Heroes.
During the Season of Smiling, he was part of the defence of the band's camp that saw five of the band's members die facing Trotzdolchen. Having inherited his uncle Liam's sword Buaiteoir, Duarcan began to seek the blessing of cinnirí of the band, to reproduce his uncle's "five-fold blessing" which brought him luck as a gallóglach.
During the Season of Graves, he helped in the capture of the Physick, and was in the rearguard action against a terrible plant monster which saw the heroic last stand of Sméagol. He continued to seek blessings for his blade, becoming closer to the cinnirí of the band as a result.
